Kuala Lumpur Travel Guide

"Start Your Journey in the Capital City"

The Kuala Lumpur travel guide gives you the skinny on what to see and how to move around in Malaysia's capital.

One of the most interesting cities in Southeast Asia, explore the rich history, architecture, cuisine, and hodgepodge of cultures that make Kuala Lumpur a unique attraction.

From the tall skyscrapers of modern Malaysia to the colonial era buildings, wander through this city and discover the sights of an Asian classic.

Get used to saying KL instead of Kuala Lumpur ... because most of us here prefer the shorter version. And for anyone traveling outside the capital city, check out the Malaysia Traveller for information on historical and interesting city trails to be found in Ipoh, Seremban, Shah Alam and other Malaysian towns.

Kuala Lumpur Landmarks

Find some of the unique architecture that characterizes the city's historical influences besides its modern day towers.

The KL landscape blends eastern and western styles with the art of Asian traditions.

And enjoy some of KL's national monuments, shopping centres and nature-oriented parks.

Kuala Lumpur Tower

One of two towers that dominate the KL skyline, the KL Tower stands like a solitary sentinel protecting the city.

The high view from the enclosed observation deck gives you the best panoramas of the city surroundings.

After a visit to the top of the tower, check out the trail to Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve for a quick urban rainforest walk.

Buy a 24-hour or 48-hour day pass and explore all the sights on your own pace without the hassles of trying to read a map or find a taxi.

Kuala Lumpur International Airport and LCCT

The gateway to Malaysia and Southeast Asia, there are actually two airports next to each other.

KLIA remains the hub for most international arrivals and departures, while the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) caters to Air Asia flights, both domestic and in the region.
